July 2007 Adventures

We spent July with family & friends in the States.  It was a good time to get “caught up” with lots of folks.

Linda had the opportunity to visit with her sister, Martha Cole, in Houston, TX.  Martha was diagnosed with kidney cancer in June of 2005; at which time she had her right kidney removed.  This summer, she was back in the hospital having her adrenal glands removed.  This procedure was less invasive as it was done by laparoscopic surgery.  Linda was able to spend a week with her, helping with meals and getting Martha accustomed to her new medicine regiment.  With this most recent procedure, Martha’s cancer is now in complete remission – PTL!

Ed had the opportunity to spend some time with his brothers and father.  Ed’s Dad lives in Fernandina Beach, located on Amelia Island, FL.  It was “tough duty” spending a long week-end eating great seafood and lots of visiting – but Ed was up for the challenge.

We still maintain a home in Atlanta, GA, so there are always lots of things to take care of.  We did the normal home maintenance projects – cleaning out gutters, spreading pine straw, servicing appliances, etc.  It was good to have a chance to do these chores during the summer months.

We headed back to Paraguay the first of August, just in time to help with a medical team in Yrybucua – but more about that in August.

Since we don’t have any photos to share for July from the states, we thought we would share some photos of Paraguay that we don’t usually have room to include.  We hope you enjoy!

On the left is a statue of the founder of Asuncion.  It is located in front of the Paraguayan State House.

Above is a photo of the home of the South American Federation of Futbol (soccer).

Like the smoky flavor diesel fumes give meat?

Just buy from your local meat market.

These folks are making carbon.  They always remind us of chimney sweepers – covered in soot.

We have beautiful, double rainbows!

May God bless each of you who support our ministry – through your generosity we are able to touch many people with the love of Christ.
