Journal Entry for December 25, 2001

Christmas in Lawrenceville

We were blessed to be able to spend Christmas with our family in the United States.  However, snow was an interesting adventure for us since Costa Rica weather always remained in the 80's F!  We were looking forward to our arrival in Paraguay and temperatures of the summer variety.

It was SOOO nice to have time with our daughters, Kara (left) and Rhian (right)

We enjoyed our time with our friends and family in Atlanta.  Our school in Costa Rica ended a month earlier than expected, due to a change in their scheduling.  That left us with 2 months in Atlanta before leaving for Paraguay.  We had good intentions of practicing our Spanish, even trying to find a tutor.  However, visiting  and getting all our things ready for Paraguay took a front seat.  We did get to speak Spanish at Cannon for a Mission Moment during all 3 services on December 23rd.   Also, during our visit to County Line UMC in Griffin, GA we were able to read the scripture lesson in Spanish.

Prayer Requests

1. We ask for your prayers for safe travel as we go to Paraguay.

2. We ask for your prayers that we will BOLDLY proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ at all opportunities.

3. Please pray that we will each have a national friend when we get to Paraguay.  We ask that God will make ready the hearts of two special nationals.

4. Pray for the health and safety of all the missionaries - especially those witnessing to Muslims.

5. Pray for the peace of Jesus Christ to be poured out upon the United States and all of her allies around the world.
